- Responsible for managing all day to day office functions & business activities of administrative staff and department including overseeing and managing department budget & grant expenditures, including the monitoring of F & A costs revenue; Directing all financial matters, including financial management, department budget performance, & strategic planning for the department as laid out under the new financial model.
- Monitoring and managing all department payroll functions.
- Assisting faculty, staff, and students with requests and resolving issues.
- Direct & facilitating all departmental hiring of staff, faculty, and all research appointments and annual salary planning for all faculty and staff.
- Managing and monitoring faculty effort and ensuring that they are in compliance with all effort and cost sharing guidelines.
- Annual budget report- Responsible for projecting the budget for the department for the coming fiscal year as well as report on the actual cost from the previous year and estimate the present costs for the current fiscal year.
- Monitor monthly F & A revenue reports- Perform a monthly analysis of the F & A costs that was budgeted each month versus the actual revenue generated to determine if there should be any budget adjustments during the year.
- Annual (SIMS) space survey- Reviewing all current space in the department and verifying the square footage is correct so that we are charged the proper amount for space each year.
- Annual cost analysis report- Report on departmental operating expenditures for the fiscal year.
- Faculty Roster- Review the faculty roster annually and make recommendations for faculty reappointments and verify that all information is correct.
